If you come across this where your widgets are failing to display and just leaves a grey layer, the fix is very easy and if you follow these instructions, the fix is instant.

Go to>Device Manager>Display Adapters and expand it. Right click on your display adapter and go to Properties>Driver and click disable device. Confirm yes. Your screen may go blank for a second but when it comes back up, your widgets will now display.

Hope it helps someone.

To fix a blank widget screen on Windows 11:

  1. Right-click on the taskbar and select Taskbar settings.
  2. Under Widgets, toggle it off and then back on.
  3. If still blank, restart your PC.
  4. Ensure your system is up-to-date by checking Settings > Windows Update.
