My Synology NAS drive is not recognized after bootup. I must Disconnect the drive, then Map Network Drive to get Win11 to recognize it. I save Credentials each time I remap it, but that doesn't correct the issue.

This issue started after a Win10 update about two years ago. I reported the issue numerous times, but it was not corrected. I had hoped the release of Win11 would have corrected the issue, but it has not.

The Synology DS216 is networked to the desktop via Ethernet. Its firmware has been upgraded to DSM 7.0.1, release 2.

Does anyone have a suggestion how to correct this issue with Win11?

Thanks

Hey @Hytec

You can try these steps:
Network Settings and SMB Protocol
  • Open Command Prompt and run: gpedit.msc
  • Navigate to: Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Network > Lanman Workstation
Registry Modification (Advanced Users)
  • Open Registry Editor (regedit.exe)
  • Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanWorkstation\Parameters
  • Create a DWORD value named DomainCompatibilityMode and set to 1
If these solutions don't resolve the issue, I recommend:
  • Contacting Synology support
  • Checking Windows update logs
