As of the last time I used my Canon MF267dw II laser printer (USB cabled to a new Lenovo desk pc running Win 11) it worked fine in all regards. Multiple copies if desired, set the number you want in the Print dialog from Word for example. Same for my spouse's 5yr old HP connected by wi-fi to the same printer. NOW, tonight:
  • I can only print ONE copy/sheet at a Print command regardless of how many I request. Set 1, 2, 3, 4 or 40. Just one happens.
  • My spouse's HP can no longer print at all (the Canon does not show up for her choices)
  • REALLY WILD is that I can print one copy (including all 10 pages of a 10 page doc, or a single page doc, or a 2 page doc) YET the Canon printer does not exist in the printer devices page using the Control Panel to look at devices and settings. Simply not there.
  • Both machines mine/spouses had Win 11 updates within the last 24 hrs.
  • Neither machine print "diseases" change when they are restarted. Same as noted above before and after a restart.
  • In my PC I initially I printed two test sheets and then Print would NOT WORK AT ALL. I then downloaded the driver from Canon and installed it 3 times before it finally worked but now only in the "one sheet no matter how many you asked for" mode.
Anyone else seen such issues? Apparently just one more attack by Win 11 update bugs?

To me the craziest thing is that I can ( crudely ) use a printer the system denies is even there !

Problem solved. On the USB connected machine I used the "manually add device" offered in the Control Panel printer area. Persisted and cause download of different driver for Canon Image Class rather than specific model number, works fine now. For my spouse's machine I used the same manual entry route BUT used the Canon driver I had downloaded a few days earlier and just made the connection work via wi-fi. Had to select the very odd looking Printer Port ( a lengthy named "WSD-75e1f5ac....) printer port selection which i assume means that is the wi-fi port (?) Anyway both machine work with the printer fine now.
