I keep encountering the error code "Install error - 0x80070002" when trying to install the 2024-07 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 23H2 for x64-based systems. Despite multiple attempts to retry the update, I continue to receive the same install error code.

1. Quick Fix: Check Time Settings
2. Check and Remove the Corrupted System Files
3. Delete Software Distribution Folder (Don't delete the folder, just go inside the folder and delete all possible contents)

Restart computer and retry the update ..

Final method - Try Windows Update Troubleshooter

has anyone successfully solved this issue yet.? None of the suggestions I have found here or on Microsoft support sites make any difference. What else should one try?

Well, the update is for 23H2. It might as well be Windows XP, in my world.
If the OP brought that PC to me, I'd encourage him/her to let me upgrade that PC to Windows 11, 24H2, (latest build).
And then after the initial update got all the drivers required, I'd disable MS Updates.
End of Update errors!
That's how I install and run Windows.
