Financial considerations are just one reason to abandon MS Office in favor of a FREE program.
I deleted my last MS Office back in 2007, and then removed 30mb of crap that it left in my registry.

For a long time I used Open Office, and one day while doing a Clean Install of Windows, I decided to try "Libre Office" ..... I liked it and I'm still using it today. It's FAST, and it's FREE.

So for those who think that MS is just IT, I'm here to remind you, there are "Options".

And, just a reminder.... if you remove some MS program like One Drive, and then you get an MS Update....that update can put back the things that you've removed. So STOP using MS Updates!!!

Cheers Mates!

I also have abandoned Microsoft Office after Office2010 was no longer supported. I tried, Apache open office, Polaris, WPS, Softmaker but ended up with Libre Office with is so close to MS Office but its free (they accept donations though). No regrets

I bought a windows 11 laptop a while ago to replace my old windows 7 PC, however, I found so many problems with the Microsoft 365, Copilot and One Drive, that I deleted them all. Or I though I has. The 356 and Copilot went, but there was a lot of files and photos that had a small blue or brown marking, which I understand is something to do with One Drive and stops me opening the file or photo and I have yet to sort it out. The latest Windows update put Copilot back in operation, which I am annoyed about. It sems that Microsoft need to push their software onto unsuspecting public rather than explain what it does and give to opportunity to say yes or no.

Any help on removing the One Drive 'captures' would be helpful.
Many thanks and please speak as you would to a very young person, I am 84 and my mind is deminishing!!!

One thing about Microsoft I can say, it keeps me in a job.

My preference is Unix/Linux, but there is much more work fixing MS problems.

There is the tool from Chris Titus: https://christitus.com/windows-tool/

I think it can remove most MS stuff that people don't want. However, Microsoft always change stuff so be prepared for stuf to Magically return.
