Shutdown takes about a minute

Hi,

After upgrading to windows 11 I've been having this strange behavior. When clicking on the start button to bring out the menu, then the little power-icon and then shutdown - nothing happens. After about a minute (30-60 seconds) the computer shuts down.

Can't for the life of me even start to think what the solution may be. Any suggestions most welcome

In my case on shutdown if my keyboard had been illuminated then it apparently shuts down with the illumination switching off then 5 seconds later it re-illuminates before going through another full shutdown,
