Taskbar icons not showing previews when hovered over

I have moved my taskbar to the top of my screen as thats where i like it and in doing so I dont know if I have broken the preview feature when you hover over an app with several windows open. I use this feature pretty regularly on my old laptop so its engrained in my muscle memory to use the feature when navigating multiple open tabs. I was wondering if anyone else has this problem; if its also something that doesn't work when the taskbar is on the bottom and if there is anyway I can fix it in order to make the previews show when i hover over them.

Any insight or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have moved my taskbar to the top of my screen as that's where I like it.

But Windows 11 does not support this, so presumably you have done some registry hack to do this?
