Hello to you,

I have a problem with my Asus ROG G771JW laptop, I installed the Windows 11 system but the keyboard backlight functionality no longer works. Would there be a driver to install to solve this problem?

Regards

Google this backlight cable on asus pc or just include the exact model number. But I had a blacklight issue on an Acer laptop and it ended up being a cable. The cable that connects from the mobo to the screen.

Backlight issues on an Asus ROG G771JW can be caused by several things. Here are some common causes and quick checks:

Display Brightness Settings: Make sure brightness isn’t set too low in Windows or via keyboard.

Power Settings: Check if power saving modes are limiting brightness.

Graphics Drivers: Outdated or corrupted GPU drivers can cause backlight problems. Try updating or reinstalling drivers from Asus or Nvidia/Intel.

Hardware Issue: Could be a failing backlight inverter or LED panel — common on older laptops.

BIOS Settings: Sometimes brightness control is affected by BIOS settings. Try updating BIOS.

Physical Damage: Screen damage or loose cable connections inside the laptop.

Quick steps:

Update your graphics drivers from Asus or GPU maker’s site.

Check Windows display settings for brightness.

Run Asus hardware diagnostics if available.

Test with an external monitor to isolate if it’s screen-related.

If it’s a hardware fault, a repair or screen replacement may be needed.

Yes, the keyboard backlight issue on your Asus ROG G771JW after upgrading to Windows 11 is likely due to missing or incompatible drivers especially for the ATK Package and ROG Gaming Center/Armoury Crate utilities, which control special functions like backlighting.
