I'm considering updating Windows Defender on my Windows 11 Enterprise system, which also has CloudStrike installed. Is it safe to proceed with this update? Should I be looking into alternative antivirus solutions, or will Defender work well alongside CloudStrike?

It's CrowdStrike .. and very recommended fo you to keep Windows Defender / Security as they have support feature each other .. however, only one security product should be the "active" AV at any given point on an endpoint. Having multiple ones active, at the same time, will lead to bad news, as they will fight each other. Microsoft's official guidance is that, if you have another security product operating as your active AV, you should disable / remove Defender. See MSFT's guidance here:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/mi...r-antivirus-compatibility?view=o365-worldwide

But as others have noted in this thread, running Falcon as your AV is optional; you can run CrowdStrike in EDR mode only, and leave the AV aspect up to Defender. However, most customers fully replace their endpoint AV with CrowdStrike - after all, you did purchase a next-gen, enterprise-grade endpoint security, why would you keep running your built-in OS AV?

On the other hand, if you planned to replace Windows Defender (Yes, Windows Defender can be uninstalled 100% completely) but will affect you Windows in future) .. and it is recommended to consult your IT department personnels for guidance and advice :)
