Hello Windows11Forums Community,

I wanted to share an important update within our admin circle. Ian, who has dedicated many years to managing these forums with great care and enthusiasm, has decided to step down as the administrator due to new commitments. He officially passed the baton to me, @AlexReflector, in December 2023. Unfortunately, his announcement was posted in an admin-only thread, so I am bringing this news to the entire community now.

We are immensely grateful to Ian for his leadership and commitment. He will continue to be a valued member of the forum, and we look forward to his contributions.

As we move forward under new management, we also face the challenge of increasing spam and off-topic posts. To help maintain the quality of our community discussions, we are looking to expand our moderation team.

We need passionate volunteers who are willing to help manage the forums and ensure our community remains a welcoming and informative place for all things Windows 11. As a moderator, you will play a crucial role in filtering out spam, guiding conversations, and upholding our community standards.

If you are interested in volunteering, please reply to this thread or send me a private message. Let us know why you'd like to join the moderation team and any relevant experience you have. No prior experience is necessary—just a willingness to help and learn.

Thank you for considering this opportunity to contribute to our community!

Best regards,
Alex - Admin & Owner

It might be more difficult than imagined.
There are basically ony three subscribers to the forum. There are, currently, almost nil requests for help. The latest, enormous, input of Microsoft news does not really contrivute a great deal towards a help forum.
Slightly (very) better on the Windows 10 forum, but the same story.

I'm glad that some kind of announcement has finally made although it would have been better coming from Ian himself rather than a third party.

What is the status of the other forums Ian managed? I'm new here but have been a member of https://www.xpforums.com/ since 2019. There are currently NO moderators, Ian was a one man show. I'm also a member of
https://www.windows10forums.com/. https://www.w7forums.com/ is another of Ian's forums but I'm not a member there.

I hope you make announcements on the new ownership on the other forums and recruit moderators on XPForums since that one is fairly active.

Some years ago, I joined the Windows 8.0 forum, and after a while I was invited by the forum owners to become a Moderator.
I said OK, then I spent most of my time banning spammers and deleting their posts.
So far that doesn't seem to be a real problem on this forum.

Since I work up to 12 forums a day, being a moderator again, really has no appeal.
Not at this time, anyway.

I'm very glad that we again have a face at the helm.
Thank you Alex,

Shadow

Alex,
We seem to get the occasional SPAM post, usually for a Dating site, or other Porn site. I saw one, just today.
If I just "REPORT" them, will you take action and remove the post and at least Warn the poster?*

* Spammers should be permanently BANNED!

Thank you,
Shadow

If the site is still looking for volunteer moderators I’d like to apply.
