Change is inevitable in the world of operating systems, and Microsoft seems to be planning to include adverts on the Start Menu, to encourage users to explore and download recommended programs.

Microsoft previously experimented with presenting adverts in the upper area of the Start Menu, but it received mixed consumer feedback. After taking this into account, the company is now placing app advertising at the bottom of the Start Menu in order to be less invasive.

However, use caution as these triggered adverts may result in inadvertent app installations. In other circumstances, the prompted ad may even be included with an installed app, adding to the potential confusion. Fortunately, users will be able to stop or opt out of these promotions using the Personalization section under Settings.

This is not the first time Microsoft has experimented with pushing programs within the Windows ecosystem. During initial setup, Windows frequently contains pre-pinned apps in the Start Menu, some of which may be irrelevant to the user's requirements.

Therefore, while we wait for the eventual rollout of sponsored adverts, we must use prudence when navigating the Recommended part of the Start Menu.
