My current Microsoft account seems to be compromised

Hi everyone,

I’m concerned that my Microsoft account might be compromised. I’m receiving a lot of threatening emails on this account, but I’m not entirely sure if it’s been fully compromised. I want to keep the contents of my account but change the login to a new email address. Can anyone guide me on how to do this? Thanks for your help!

Option 1
- Change password
- Activate Microsoft Authenticator as 2FA
- Block all existing threatening incoming mail accounts

Option 2 (Only applicable if you have Microsoft Outlook)
- Backup all DATA files from Microsoft Outlook
- Create new account
- Activate Microsoft Authenticator as 2FA
- Login to Microsoft Outlook using new account
- Block all existing threatening incoming mail accounts
- Restore the backed up DATA files
