Bought a new Logitech mouse M185 type. When I plug in the new unifying receiver my old Logitech keyboard stops working.
I have tried putting the new receiver into other slots. I have changed the batteries on the keyboard.
When I plug the old mouse back in everything works. I can't get into setting the mouse up because then the keyboard doesn't work. I'm obviously missing something simple, advice please. TIA

I've seen the same happen when the older keyboard or mouse didn't work with the newer unifying items. For years if one lost the dongle for the mouse it was useless but supposedly all unifying items work with all other unifying items, kinda like mix and match. I like the Bluetooth mice [no dongle] as one can work dozens of computers that also have Bluetooth, usually part of the Wireless/Wi-Fi adapter. I have Bluetooth mice from Targus, Microsoft and Logitech. I keep a couple USB Bluetooth dongles on hand for use on computers that don't have it.
