Scroll wheel controlling volume and mouse buttons not working as expected

My gaming mouse's scroll wheel is now controlling the volume and pressing the wheel pauses whatever is playing in the background. Previously, the two side buttons were used to go back and forward, but they no longer function as they used to. I’ve tried unplugging and replugging the mouse, but it hasn’t resolved the issue. The mouse, which doesn’t seem to have a DPI button but instead has plus and minus keys, also randomly mutes by itself.

Additionally, scrolling up makes the page go down and vice versa, which has been a long-standing issue. The inconsistencies with the scroll wheel and button functions are quite frustrating. How can I fix these problems?
