Hi, I'm running win 11 (23H2) and for about a week now my desktop reboots itself 3-5 times a day out of the blue.
What's going on here?
Also, it seems that MS Edge runs constantly in the background. Can that be turned off?
I'd really appreciate any advice.

No BSOD, screen just turns black and goes into the reboot routine.
I the meantime I did read about that. Seems that MS has screwed up the latest update.

OK, Chameleon is installed and it seems to work.
I'm not really sure how to interpret the results. Can I turn things off that I don't need?

yes, u can turn off most startup apps, for myself I have removed almost everything because you can actually open the applications manually and it will work .. if you dont want to delete, you can "uncheck" the box and disable it .. in case if you have problem then you can turn the related startup apps again :)

Just post if you have any issues, I can assist you later :)

It seems that I got rid of Edge running all the time.
However, the PC keeps restarting every 2 or 3 hours. Getting on my nerve.

Dusted the PC, wasn't really much, it's only a little over 1 year old. No difference, keeps restarting at random.

In your BIOS, do you have power management (or whatever it's called on your PC) set to turn the PC on when it sees Power?

Check your input power, just to make sure you don't have a loose wire somewhere. I've taken service calls, just to find a loose wall plug.
A reboot is NOT a single operation. It's actually TWO. A shutdown followed by a RE-Boot.
So, why is it shutting down in the first place? There is where to start your search.

Good Luck,
Shadow

I go back to my post #17.
I suspect that your rebooting problem is NOT Windows, but a power problem.
Don't touch Windows, till you've totally established that there is NO Power problem.
As a computer tech of more than 40 years, I've found and fixed many Power Problems, as simple as a loose power plug at the wall.

I have taken the PC apart because I had to install another SSD drive.
I checked and reconnected all power connectors. There was nothing loose.
