Communication has just been easier for Windows users! Google Chat has partnered with Mio to provide seamless cross-platform communication at your fingertips.
You can now stay connected with coworkers directly from Google Chat, regardless of whether using Slack, Teams, Zoom, or Webex. Send messages, share files, and express yourself using GIFs and emojis without switching apps.
Ilya Brown, VP of Product Management for Google Workspace, describes this integration as a game changer for collaboration. According to studies, companies who use interoperable technology see six times higher revenue growth!
Google initially announced this functionality back in August 2023 at the Cloud Next 2023 event. Previously, Google Chat’s interoperability was limited to Slack and Teams users, but it is finally available to all users. However, there is indeed a catch to connecting Google Workspace with Slack or Teams: note that you need a Mio license. This means organizations have to install the Mio app onto their chat platforms in order to enable cross-platform communications.
While adding Mio may seem like extra work, the rewards outweigh the effort. Say goodbye to app hopping and hello to efficient cross-platform communication!
