Hi Dave & Bighorn,

on Deskmodder (German blog, didn't find the contribution back), they said that Microsoft is transforming the "Search function" into an app (to isolate it form the kernel).
I would'nt trust to much the old "Search" for the moment (don't think that Microsoft invests a lot of work into it).

@ Gylenthal

if you know everyhting (better), why are you asking ?
Tks. Not much interest here. As I said , I dont use it anyway , and whatever they choose to do with it, this is unlikely to change.

Yada, Yada, Yada!
Such a waste of electrons!

Sorry guys (and any Gals) but regardless of what MS does, or doesn't do, I'll continue to let DOS to do all my searches for me.
1. Open an elevated Command Prompt
2. Type in "Dir /a/s C:\" followed by the file I'm looking for.
3. DOS will then give me a listing of any and all instances

And if I want that listing sent to a permanent file, for future use or printing,
I just follow the Dir command with > C:\listing.txt

Once you've done it a couple of times, it's really easy.
