Sometimes, Microsoft compatible driver differs from the device manufacturer. It is recommended to download the exact driver matching the machine itself uninstall and re-install the manufacturer driver again to make the device to back active.
Also, keep the correct drivers downloaded at a safe place for future reference as some older devices tend to obsolete and manufacturers will not be providing support anymore. Unless we could try to find from other 3rd party resources.
