Hello! Whenever I plug in my USB drive to the computer, I receive a prompt prompting me to format the drive before I can use it. If anyone has faced a similar issue or knows how to bypass the formatting request and retrieve the data securely, please help me.

I have several Thumb drives with version of Linux on them and they are bootable. However, Windows can't handle their format of ext4, always prompts to format them. Where did your drives come from, maybe Mac OS which uses HPFS? Windows can format FAT32 up to 32GB, exFAT and NTFS.

I have one USB drive that will do that, if I unplug it, without letting Windows Close it first. Several other of my 20 or more USB drives, just don't care if they are closed or not. I'm trying real hard to get in the habit of always Closing a drive before unplugging it.
Maybe you should do that too!
