I have not been anywhere near Washington DC in over 4 years now
Why is my PC saying that the nearest
restaurant, movie, etc are all in DC?
I'm hundreds of miles from there

I tried going into Settings, looking through
Privacy, Location, and others.
Best I came up with was
Your computer is manged by some other entity...
(Or some such nonsense.)

Logged in as administrator, and found no policies set.

Been trying to fix this problem for a long time.

Any constructive assistance would be greatly appreciated.

It may depend on what programs are telling you that, whether a VPN is in use, where your ISP is located, etc. Some Searches ask for a location. Clearing your Browser cache can help. My location is sometimes shown as my ISP site which is 80 miles away.

GPS is not always accurate, for me I have 3 nearby cities auto-captured by the system meanwhile I'm located in Shah Alam, but also shows Damansara (about 20 km range) and Bukit Raja (5 km range) ..

Sometimes my ISP detects nearest switching (if I do Speedtest) to Kelana Jaya (which is around 15 km range) ..

My PC reports that my ISP is in Huntsville, Alabama, where I live
But every google search for "xxx near me" comes up
with Washington, DC locations.

I suggest using the free Search engine www.duckduckgo.com to see what results you are given. Also, some Search engines will have a default starting point unless the User changes it. I use Firefox as my main Internet browser but there's other good ones, e.g. Brave, SeaMonkey, Vivaldi, Opera.

I found a website
It showed a handful of tricks to get the system fixed and away from that message
"Your browser is managed by your organization"
and getting a more accurate location for searches.
Tried it all. Nothing worked.
Switching default browser to duckduckgo worked flawlessly.
So, that's my go-to browser from here on out.
Much appreciated
