Desktop Location

The above has been set as C:\Users\green\OneDrive\Desktop. I presume at some stage I sent it there. It has created many irritations i.e. sometimes a file downloaded to Desktop does not appear on my actual desktop. It is however in This PC - Desktop. Sometimes I can copy from last onto my actual desktop, sometimes not.
Previously as stated it has been irritating but I am now having problems with an app I use regularly and the tech. dept. for the app has been struggling to access desktop via cmd. Today we managed to locate it.
To avoid future issues I would like to change its location to C:\Users\green\Desktop which as I understand is the normal location.
Step by step instructions would be much appreciated.

That is not the default location of onedrive.
But, for starters, right click "Desktop" and delete it.

thanks for reply. I am very nervous about just doing above. What happens then?
A further thought after initial post is that I change to C:\Users\green\Desktop will it affect other programmes so that I will have to go through many programmes changing their settings?

after above I used right click on desktop and no option to delete
